In April 2018 we welcomed our first flock of hens into our new Free Range Hen unit. This was a large capital investment that took months to build and also plan for. The shed is 20m wide by 130m long and houses 32,000 hens producing nearly 11.5 million eggs every 14 months. The eggs aswell as being enjoyed locally go to Tesco stores around the country through the egg packer Anglia Free Range Eggs. The Hens have 42 acres of grassland and 10 acres of trees to use as a range. This is also where the Hereford cattle graze during the summer months.
